2017/2018 KRC Winter Scale Points Series
This years 2017/2018 KRC winter scale points series is hosted by RC Addict at their new location 449 Bowman Rd, Franklin, PA 16323. There is still not a great source of heat so dress warm. Food and drink will be available for purchase. RC Addict has parts in stock for purchase as needed. We are trying to be wheelchair accessible, and we have some things in place to facilitate if you have a special need. Plenty of parking available. Spectating is free. We ask that all parents please be responsible for their children. There are animals here so no cigarette butts on the ground please. Keep children away from pond. We ask that you don’t bring pets because of the farm animals. Everyone will be required to sign a liability release form. We are not responsible for accidents or injuries, use good common sense and stay safe.
Please have a tech sheet filled out to make tech in easier at the table. Tech judges can answer questions you may have there, or you can asking in our Facebook Group – https://www.facebook.com/groups/keystonercclub/
Prices are increasing this year to $10 a truck/class due to the increased cost to host the event and heat the barn.
We will run standard SORRCA.com rules for Class 1, 2 and 3. As well as our own drivers class with cash payout.
C1 points cap is -50
C2 Points cap is -30
C3 point cap is -40
Drivers class must have -42 or take a penalty for missing points. Follow C2 rules for build.
Your points score from each comp with be added together with your worst one throw out, so best 5 added together for series total.
We have a 40 penalty point cap per course, so point out or time out = 40 – scale points – progress points for score
A Did Not Start (DNS) is 50 per course no subtraction of scale points. So if you don’t make a comp you get a 150 for the day in that class in your series scores.
You do not have to run every event, but your scores will reflect it. Each event is independent if you just want to come out and have some fun and see how you stack up, but all prizes beyond bragging rights are handed out at the last comp.
Drivers class payout is every comp.

Sunday April 26th, 2015 was a beautiful day in North Western PA for a scale competition. The Keystone RC North club hosted comp #1 of its 3rd annual summer points series held at Van Ord farm in Russell, PA. This is a 6 series competition happening once a month. Turn out was great with 16 drivers in class 2, 8 in each of the other classes.
There was a great mix of mud, dirt, rocks, water, and hill climb challenges on every course. There were new drivers, and seasoned vets, and even some on lookers stopped by to see what it was all about.
There was even a Crawler4Kids.org Donation Station to help benefit special needs kids that people happily donated spare parts to.
